From everyday life

During the school year, we regularly hold many special community activities.

Some on an annual basis, others weekly.

Below you will find a small collection of what happens regularly with us.

reading time

During the school week, the students have the opportunity to expand their reading skills in various ways. The classes can choose books from the well-equipped and comfortably furnished school library and browse them on site or in the reading corners in the classrooms. Classes meet at set reading times to read together. In German lessons, we practice reading using various reading aloud methods and reading strategies.

Every two weeks, the Münster City Library's book bus stops in our school yard. On that day, you have the opportunity to borrow books.

Reading fever is guaranteed with us!

School Fruit NRW

We are a participating school in the nationwide EU program "Fruit and Vegetables". Three times a week we receive fresh organic fruit and vegetables from a regional supplier. In the classroom, the food is washed, cut and eaten together. In addition to the extra portion of vitamins, our students also learn how to use kitchen utensils and prepare healthy snacks.

Red Knight

In the spring, the Münster police's "Red Knight Mobile" mobile traffic school will be in our schoolyard for a week. This gives all classes the opportunity to practice their road safety and the skills required for it.

curb training

In the first year, our district police officer comes to our entry-level classes for "curb training". There, he shows the children how to cross the street safely and explains what to look out for in traffic. This special lesson with the police is always something very special and something that will be remembered.

cycling training

Thanks to the support association, all grades have the opportunity to try out cycling in a safe environment in the schoolyard. In addition to learning to ride a bike in a small group, an obstacle course can be set up in the schoolyard on which our students can develop their skills.

Child Protection Association

Our school works regularly with the team from the Münster Child Protection Association. The team regularly visits our 4th grade classes with the "SpürSinn Project", which the students take part in with great interest. You can find more information about the "SpürSinn Project" and the work of the Child Protection Association here .

landfill adventure trail

In the 4th grade, we go on a trip to the landfill adventure trail at the Münster waste management company (awm) . The awm offer is free of charge and you are picked up and brought back by a bus. With the lower grades, we use the extensive learning materials on the topics of waste and recycling, such as the waste education kit and papermaking frame.

Of course, we also take part in the annual city-wide garbage collection campaign "Aktion Sauberes Münster". Equipped with pliers, gloves and garbage bags, young and old set out to remove the garbage from the streets and bushes in our neighborhood.
