Visit to the Rolling Forest School

"The forest is vital to our survival" - the students at the Erich Kästner School know this. They have once again learned a lot of new things about the forest and its inhabitants. The cuckoo only comes to us for a short time, lays its eggs in other people's nests and flies back south. Why are raccoons called raccoons? We recognize green woodpeckers, great spotted woodpeckers and black woodpeckers well - their names say it all. Particularly impressive: we are allowed to pet the stuffed animals that we have brought with us - who has ever petted a hedgehog or felt the soft fur of a young fox?

On Thursday things got exciting again: the falconer was there, and with him various birds of prey and a live American hawk. It first flew onto our climbing spider and looked down at us. Then it flew into the tall tree and finally returned to the falconer. There it was able to enjoy its rabbit leg. Enjoy your meal! And please come back next year.

Colorful Rainy Days

The children in the hedgehog class have made our rainy days and rainy breaks colorful. One of the class's favorite colors is "rainbow color." And everyone likes a rainbow. That's how the idea came about to make rainy days and our auditorium more beautiful with pictures of colorful umbrellas.

Reading Day

Even before our joint reading day, all the students were looking forward to this special hour. A few days beforehand, the children were able to choose from a wide range of books. On the reading day, everyone "wandered" with their cases to the respective rooms. There, a cozy reading session with exciting or funny stories awaited them. The time went by far too quickly. How nice that there will definitely be another reading time for everyone soon.
